July 28th, 2008Had buffet lunch at Café Masala, which is on the 5th floor of ‘Eva Mall’ in Bangalore. The variety and taste of food is pretty good. They even have a fresh sugarcane juice extractor. There were about 7 to 8 types of desserts. We sat near the window and a couple of chairs were getting soaked in the rain. They don’t have proper curtains/covers. Overall, a highly recommend eating joint.
Directions from HAL airport road: Cross Domlur, then take right onto MG Road, take left on Brigade Road, cross Rex theatre and go straight after the signal. Eva Mall is on the left side.

Pulley type cloth hanger
July 15th, 2008Two years ago, I got pulley type cloth hanger (model # PTRE) installed in my balcony. Found that bill today as I was clearing old papers.

April 14th, 2008On 12th April 2008, I received the keys of my new car: Hyundai i10.
Model: Era
Color: Champagne Gold
Cost on-road: Rs. 4,24,633
Accessories received as part of the car: Door mats, mud flaps, God idol, perfume, Teflon coating, Garware medium sun film
Dealer: Advaith Hyundai, Outer Ring Road
I got ICE (In Car Entertainment) done on the same day for Rs. 15K at JBL (Sound Factor), Lavelle road. Pioneer Head Unit (4050) and JBL speakers (GTO 607 component speakers at front and GTO 937 oval 6×9 at rear).
Observations so far:
- The car is v. smooth. Twice I tried to start the engine when it was already ON.
- The gear shift is not smooth as it was said to be. Perhaps this will get better after the first servicing.
- The car is sluggish w/ AC on
- It’s easy to move the car from a stalled position (just release the clutch slowly and the car will move forward, when on a level road). This is in comparison to the one in which I learnt how to drive where I had to use the half-clutch method. Perhaps it’s the same for all new cars that have power steering.
